The Sámi Museum in Karasjok was established in 1972 as the first Sámi cultural institution in Norway. The museum has over 5,000 objects in the collections. This is the largest museum collection representing Sámi cultural history in Norway. The museum consists of a main building with exhibitions and magazines as well as an open-air museum.

From April 20 to June 1, 2021 our Museum is open:
Tuesday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
SUMMER OPEN
June 1-10: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
June 11 – August 15: Every day 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

We offer digital guided tours at our Outdoor Museum. The digitally guided tours contain text, pictures, maps, audio, and video. Our digital application, VAPPUS, is free for museum visitors and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
VAPPUS is available in English, Norwegian, Finnish and Sámi.
