We welcome visitors to a new exhibition on rock art from Indre Sandvik \/ Ruoksesb\u00e1kti \u2013 one of the most extensive sites of rock paintings in Northern Europe. The exhibition provides a unique insight into prehistoric traces left by people who lived in the area thousands of years ago, as well as into the work of documenting and understanding this cultural heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n The exhibition is based on archaeologist Jan Magne Gjerde\u2019s documentation report from the site. Through photographs, processed material, and interpretation, visitors can explore both the motifs in the rock art and the methods used to make faint and nearly invisible figures visible.<\/p>\n The project has been supported through the grant scheme Selected Cultural Landscapes in Agriculture<\/em> in the Goarahat and Sandvikhalv\u00f8ya area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n We mark the opening with an event on Wednesday, June 2: <\/p>\n The exhibition runs until <\/span>September 30, 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n This exhibition marks the conclusion of our current exhibition programme.
